Kings hire former Duke star Harding as assistant coach

The Sacramento Kings hired former Duke star and WNBA guard Lindsey Harding as an assistant and player development coach on Luke Walton's staff, the team announced Friday.

Joining Harding in the latest round of additions to the staff are Stacey Augmon as assistant coach/player development and Rico Hines as a player development coach.

Harding spent the 2018-19 season with the Philadelphia 76ers, initially working as a scout before being promoted to player development coach.

After being named Naismith College Player of the Year in her senior season at Duke, Harding was selected No. 1 overall in the 2007 WNBA Draft by the Phoenix Mercury. She averaged 9.8 points, four assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game in nine seasons split between six teams, and retired as a player in 2017.
