Atlanta Dream center Tina Charles passed nine-time All-Star Tina Thompson for second on the WNBA's all-time scoring list during Atlanta's 72-63 win over the Phoenix Mercury on Wednesday night.

Charles made a three to reach 7,491 career points and recorded 12 points, a season-high 17 rebounds, and three assists in the victory.

The veteran center needed 10 points to pass Thompson entering the game.

She holds career averages of 17.9 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and a block over 14 seasons. Charles also ranks second on the all-time rebounds list behind Sylvia Fowles.

Mercury guard Diana Taurasi ranks first in points in WNBA history with 10,497 over her career. She scored three points in Wednesday's defeat.

The Dream have won their last three games, bringing them to 10-17 on the season.
