Sparks, head coach Miller mutually part ways
The Los Angeles Sparks and head coach Curt Miller have mutually agreed to part ways, the franchise announced Tuesday.
The Sparks will begin their search for a new bench boss immediately.
"On behalf of our ownership group and franchise, I would like to thank coach Miller for his passion and commitment to the Sparks organization these past two seasons," team governor and managing partner Eric Holoman said in a statement. "We wish him well moving forward."
Miller went 25-55 with the franchise, including a league-worst 8-32 mark this campaign. The two-time WNBA Coach of the Year ranks 11th in regular-season wins with a 165-141 record. He led the Connecticut Sun to the WNBA Finals in 2019 and 2022.
Before he was hired by the Sun, Miller was an assistant coach with the Sparks.
Dearica Hamby was named a WNBA All-Star and The Associated Press' Most Improved Player, while Rickea Jackson was named to the AP All-Rookie team while Miller was head coach.
"I want to thank the entire Sparks organization for the opportunity to lead and help rebuild the franchise," Miller said. "I am proud of the culture created in our locker room and strongly believe the roots have been established for a bright future. The team is now positioned for success, and I wish the players the best heading into the 2025 season."
