Caitlin Clark had one of the most memorable rookie campaigns in WNBA history this year, setting multiple league records and attracting many new fans to women's basketball.
Clark's impact wasn't lost on NBA commissioner Adam Silver, who spoke about the Indiana Fever guard while attending Monday night's game between the Indiana Pacers and New Orleans Pelicans.
"Caitlin Clark set the world on fire, not just this community," Silver said on the FanDuel Sports Network, according to Scott Horner of the Indianapolis Star. "People are seeing how deep this league is. I jokingly said this league is a 28-year overnight sensation."
Clark was named the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year after averaging 19.2 points and a league-high 8.4 assists per game. She became the first rookie in WNBA history with multiple triple-doubles and also set a record for the most points by a guard in a single season.
A recent report by ESPN's Shams Charania indicated that Clark could make an appearance at the 2025 NBA All-Star Game, potentially competing in the NBA vs. WNBA 3-point challenge alongside Stephen Curry and Sabrina Ionescu.
