Clark's Fever vs. Reese's Sky highlights WNBA's opening weekend
The WNBA announced Monday that the 2025 season will kick off May 16, with a matchup between Caitlin Clark's Indiana Fever and Angel Reese's Chicago Sky highlighting the first weekend of games.
The league's regular season will run until Sept. 11 and will be the first campaign in which every team plays 44 contests, up from 40 games this past year.
The Golden State Valkyries' inaugural contest against the Los Angeles Sparks will feature on Opening Night. The Valkyries are the first WNBA expansion team since 2008.
The league will have a trio of games May 16 before longtime rivals Clark and Reese open their sophomore seasons against each other the following night.
Reigning champions the New York Liberty also begin their title defense May 17 when they host the Las Vegas Aces.
