Report: Sun trading Carrington to Wings
The Connecticut Sun are nearing a deal that would ship DiJonai Carrington and the 12th overall pick in this year's draft to the Dallas Wings, sources told Winsidr's Rachel Galligan.
Dallas will reportedly send Jacy Sheldon and the No. 8 selection to Connecticut.
Carrington is coming off a career season in Connecticut. The 26-year-old averaged personal highs in points (12.7), rebounds (five), and steals (1.6) while starting all but one of the Sun's 40 regular-season games. She was named the Most Improved Player for the 2024 campaign and was also voted to the All-Defensive first team.
Sheldon started in 26 of 40 contests for Dallas as a rookie in 2024, putting up 5.4 points, 2.5 assists, and 2.1 rebounds per game. The fifth overall pick in last year's draft was quickly thrust into a significant role with the Wings after multiple injuries sidelined their stars, including Arike Ogunbowale, Natasha Howard, and Satou Sebally, who's reportedly heading to the Phoenix Mercury as part of a three-team deal.
