WNBA season betting preview: Can Clark lead Fever to a championship?
The WNBA season begins Friday, marking the start of perhaps the most highly anticipated campaign in women's basketball history.
The buzz around Caitlin Clark heading into her rookie season last year was palpable, but after witnessing her abilities at the pro level, the expectations for her and the Indiana Fever are even higher in 2025.
The Fever are the second favorite to win the championship. They're +350 at theScore Bet/ESPN Bet, behind last year's champs, the New York Liberty (+230). Indiana made some offseason moves to provide Clark with a supporting cast capable of producing a title run, signing DeWanna Bonner and Natasha Howard in free agency and trading for Sophie Cunningham.

Sabrina Ionescu and two-time MVP Breanna Stewart lead the Liberty in their title defense. New York has made it to back-to-back WNBA Finals and has a win total set at 31.5 (over paying -140), the highest in the league.
Despite the Liberty having the shortest title odds, neither Ionescu nor Stewart is considered a favorite to win the MVP award.
Clark is the +200 favorite, with last year's winner, A'ja Wilson (+225), and Napheesa Collier (+300) trailing closely behind. Stewart is +1200 and Ionescu is +3000. Kelsey Plum, who was traded from the Las Vegas Aces to the Los Angeles Sparks in the offseason, rounds out the top six of the MVP oddsboard at +3000.
While not as hyped as Clark coming out of college, Paige Bueckers isn't too far behind. The 2025 national champion from UConn went first overall to the Dallas Wings and is the heavy favorite to win the Rookie of the Year award.

The Washington Mystics have three players within the top six on the oddsboard, but this award is Bueckers' to lose.
