Germany leaps onto medal table with pair of biathlon golds

Thanks to Andrea Eskau and Martin Fleig, the Germans now sit third in the medal table after both won in the biathlon long distance sitting for their respective sexes. For Eskau, it was her second gold in PyeongChang, having already claimed the top spot in women's 10km sitting.

Meanwhile, Germany was outpaced in the table by the Neutral Paralympic Athletes in the women's 12.5km biathlon, standing as the Russian duo of Anna Milenina and Ekaterina Rumyantseva finished seconds apart to claim gold and silver, respectively. To top it off, NPA's Mikhalina Lysova claimed the top spot in women's 12.5km biathlon, visually impaired as well. Canada's Mark Arendz (men's 15km standing) and Ukraine's Vitaliy Luk'yanenko (men's 15km visually impaired) rounded out the biathlete winners.
