Poland's Kowalczyk won gold in the 10km cross-country classic on a fractured foot
This is ridiculous: Not only did Poland's Justyna Kowalczyk pummel the competition in the women's 10km cross-country skiing classic event on Thursday, she did it on a fractured foot, reports The Associated Press.
Kowalczyk won gold with a time of 28:17.8 - she finished more than 18 seconds ahead of second place.
"It's something big for me because I broke my foot two weeks ago," she said. "I was fighting with myself with this injury."
Way to make everyone else look bad, Ms. Kowalczyk.
The 31-year-old Polish skier, who won her fifth Olympic medal on Thursday, was very emotional after crossing the finish line, and during the flower ceremony.

Let's face it: we'd be crying, too.
