Huddersfield signs Egyptian winger Sobhi from Stoke on 3-year deal
Huddersfield Town announced on Tuesday it has made its first signing of the summer transfer window, taking Stoke City winger Ramadan Sobhi on a three-year deal.
According to BBC Sport, Sobhi has moved for a £5.7-million fee.
The 21-year-old never established himself as a consistent starter for the Potters, but still amassed over 40 Premier League appearances across two seasons at the bet365 Stadium.
Terriers manager David Wagner said of his new signing: "He's a real talent and has achieved a lot for a player who is only 21 years old, playing over 20 times for his country ahead of this summer's World Cup.
"He already has a lot of the qualities that we look for in our 'Terriers Identity'; he's skillful, direct, and very quick-thinking. He still has a lot of space to improve too, which is very exciting!
"We're looking forward to working hard with Ramadan on the training pitch to give him every chance of success at Huddersfield Town."
Sobhi is part of the final Egypt squad that will take on Uruguay, Saudi Arabia, and hosts Russia at the World Cup this month.
He flew in from his country's pre-tournament training camp in Italy to complete the move to Yorkshire, signing a deal that will initially run until 2021.
