Argentina facing sanctions as FIFA investigates controversial banner at Slovenia friendly
The Argentine Football Association is under investigation by FIFA thanks to a controversial banner that players posed with prior to a match against Slovenia on June 7.

Following the incident, FIFA and its lawyers will review if the banner broke the organization's violations prohibiting political statements at matches, according to the Belfast Telegraph.
"Las Malvinas son Aregentinas" translates to "The Falklands are Argentinian," a reference to Argentina's sovereignty dispute over the Falklands Islands, which have been under British rule since 1833.
If FIFA and its lawyers determine the banner to in violation of their rules, the Argentinian FA could face sanctions.
Argentina is preparing for its first match of the World Cup on Sunday against Group F opponent Bosnia and Herzegovina.
