When Netherlands center back Bruno Martins Indi left Wednesday's match against Australia due to injury, most assumed he was hurt by Tim Cahill's reckless challenge.
We've since learned that the Feyenoord defender suffered a concussion after his face hit the ground following the challenge. The photograph above suggests that Martins Indi was perhaps rendered unconscious by the impact, and the video below confirms how hard his head hit the ground.
Let's hope that Louis van Gaal and the rest of the Dutch team take every precaution necessary with the 22-year-old.
