Mats Hummels, back into the lineup after missing the win over Algeria with a bout of the flu, overpowered Raphael Varane in the French penalty area and got his head onto the end of a free kick from Toni Kroos, sending the ball off the underside of the crossbar and beyond Hugo Lloris in the 13th minute.

France will have to do something they haven't had to all tournament long: come from behind.
