David Luiz was the acting captain in place of the suspended Thiago Silva for Brazil's semifinal against Germany. It couldn't have gone any worse.
Germany crushed the hosts 7-1, laying one of the worst beatings in World Cup history.
Following the game Luiz was distraught, failing to hold back tears during an interview with the media.
