Clovis Fernandes: Brazil's '12th player'
Painful images of Brazilians mourning their country's World Cup elimination have been making the rounds since Tuesday afternoon, but arguably the toughest scene to watch was of a man clutching the World Cup Trophy with all his strength, seemingly in shock at what he was witnessing at the Estadio Mineirao in Belo Horizonte.
Outside of Brazil, the man is treated as just another Seleção supporter. But within the South American nation, most know him as Clovis Fernandes, Brazil's "12th player."
Fernandes is regarded as Brazil's biggest fan. He's traveled to more than 60 countries, has taken in roughly 150 matches, and has attended each World Cup since 1990. Even Brazil's players know who he is as Fred invited him to stay at his house during the Confederations Cup in 2013.
The replica of the World Cup Trophy that Fernandes was seen clutching onto during Brazil's humiliating defeat against Germany is one that he carries around with him wherever he goes. But following Brazil's elimination on Tuesday, he was seen giving the trophy to a German supporter inside the Estadio Mineirao.

FIFATV did a profile on Fernandes back in April, when his hopes for the Seleção were still high.
