Film in production about Bouchard's Super Bowl bet date
Just when you think Hollywood can't come up with an original idea, it unearths a gem and completely redeems itself.
Fox 2000 is producing a romantic comedy inspired by the infamous Super Bowl bet between tennis player Eugenie Bouchard and a fan on Twitter, according to Deadline Hollywood's Amanda N'Duka.
Bouchard, currently ranked No. 73 on the WTA Tour, will be an executive producer on the project.
After the Atlanta Falcons took a commanding lead in Super Bowl LI, Bouchard tweeted, "I knew Atlanta would win (by the way)."
That prompted New England Patriots fan John Goehrke to counter with a friendly wager.
Here's the exchange that started it all:

Of course, the Patriots went on to win 34-28, scoring 25 points through the fourth quarter and overtime to complete the dramatic comeback.
True to her word, Bouchard took Goehrke on a date at a Brooklyn Nets game several weeks later. The two stayed in contact and attended the following year's Super Bowl together.
The film will be about "dating and love in the modern digital age," according to N'Duka, focusing on the role of social media and Bouchard's status as a public figure.
What a time to be alive.
