Eugenie Bouchard's struggles continue.
Knocked out of the top ten in the WTA rankings following her first-round exit in the French Open, Bouchard was looking to the grass-court season to help turn her game around. Unfortunately, she suffered her eighth loss in her last nine matches, falling in upset fashion in the Netherlands to Yaroslava Shvedova, 6-4, 1-6, 6-4.
Bouchard was the top seed at this year's Topshelf Open, but went down in the tournament's first round for the second consecutive year, giving up a 4-0 lead in the final set. Shvedova was coming off only two days rest after competing in the women's doubles final in Paris on Sunday.
