VIDEO: CoCo Vandeweghe destroys racket in Round 2 of US Open

Two days after CoCo Vandeweghe made tennis history taking part in the first-ever mid-match interview during her Round 1 victory over Sloane Stephens, reporters will be keeping a safe distance from the American on Wednesday.
Down 5-0 in the opening set to fellow American Bethanie Mattek-Sands, Vandeweghe let out her frustrations by smashing her racket. And after seeking the crowd's approval, she smashed it some more.
The 23-year-old may have gained some energy from the racket abuse, winning a pair of games before dropping the opening set 6-2. She couldn't keep that pace, though, losing the second 6-1 with the match ending in just over an hour.
