SmackDown Live commissioner Shane McMahon suffered a health scare while vacationing in the Caribbean with his family recently, putting his status for WrestleMania 34 in doubt.
WWE announced Monday that McMahon developed a "massive infection" due to acute diverticulitis and was hospitalized for several days in Antigua. He was later transported to a New York-area hospital, where doctors discovered he'd also suffered an umbilical hernia in the beatdown he received from Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn on SmackDown two weeks earlier. The hernia will require surgery.
McMahon was rumored to be competing with Daniel Bryan in a tag-team match against Owens and Zayn at WrestleMania.
