Jericho confident Undertaker, not American Badass, will be at WrestleMania
The Undertaker has yet to respond to John Cena's challenge, but at least one of his colleagues has no doubt the legend will be making an appearance at WrestleMania 34.
During an appearance on SiriusXM's Busted Open Radio on Wednesday, Chris Jericho explained why he thinks it will be Undertaker and not his American Badass character stepping into the ring against Cena on Sunday.
"American Badass is a pretty cool character, 'Taker loves it, but guess which character Vince McMahon loves? The Undertaker, it's his greatest creation," Jericho said. "I'll be the devil's advocate to you guys - I would feel a little disappointed if it was the American Badass because I love The Undertaker and I love that entrance. ... There's never been an entrance like that in wrestling, in my opinion."
Another reason Jericho doesn't expect Undertaker to return as the American Badass is his belief that most of those in attendance at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome won't be familiar with the gimmick.
"There's a lot of people who have started watching in the last three or four or five years," he said. "There's a lot of John Cena fans who don't know what happened in 2000. So, in my opinion, the hardcores who would like to see it because it's something different, whereas your general, average wrestling fan will go nuts when The Undertaker's music hits. I'm 100 percent certain that it's going to be The Undertaker at WrestleMania and not to the American Badass."
