Japanese wrestling standout Io Shirai is reportedly headed to WWE.
Tokyo Sports reports that Shirai (real name Masami Odate) is set to join WWE and her last show with Stardom is scheduled for June 17. Sources close to the 28-year-old confirmed the story to Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer.
Shirai first accepted an offer to sign with WWE in May 2017, but the company rescinded the deal after discovering a heart issue during a medical exam, according to Meltzer. She lost her Wonder of Stardom title to Momo Watanabe last week, but Meltzer reports that it had nothing to do with her joining WWE and that the promotion didn't find out about her decision until Monday.
