Ex-WWE Divas champion Kaitlyn to compete in 2018 Mae Young Classic
The first participant in the second annual Mae Young Classic has been revealed.
WWE announced Wednesday that former WWE Divas champion Kaitlyn - real name Celeste Bonin - will be among the 32 women competing in this year's tournament. This will be Bonin's first WWE match since she left the company in early 2014.
Bonin returned to the ring in January 2018 in the indie circuit and told ESPN's Aishwarya Kumar she's had the idea of a WWE comeback in the back of her mind ever since.
"The highs and lows and the adrenaline rushes and the quick thinking on your feet - it came rushing back to me," Bonin said. "Anytime you step back in the ring, it's the same rush and you never get used to it. There is always this fear and this question of 'Oh, my gosh, can I do this?' And to me that's part of what makes it amazing."
