'The Roast of Ric Flair' to headline Starrcast II
Ric Flair will be roasted by some of the biggest names in professional wrestling and stand-up comedy in Las Vegas next month.
"The Roast of Ric Flair" will headline Starrcast II, the wrestling convention taking place May 23-26 at Caesar's Palace, founder Conrad Thompson confirmed to Brian Campbell of CBS Sports.
The roast will follow a similar format to those aired on Comedy Central and will feature what Thompson described as "a who's who of stand-up comedians" alongside figures from the wrestling world and some surprise guests.
"There is going to be a handful of wrestling people there, but Ric sort of transcends pop culture, so we are going to have more mainstream roasters from outside the wrestling sector," Thompson said. "The comedians are itching for the chance to carve up not just Ric, but our dais as well. We are excited to have some fun, but some of these guys, they are not going for laughs. They are going for gasps."
