Police investigating after apparent murder confession by Marty Jannetty
A troubling Facebook post shared by former WWE Superstar Marty Jannetty early Wednesday has prompted a police investigation in Columbus, Georgia.
Jannetty, who was a member of The Rockers tag team with Shawn Michaels, appeared to confess to killing someone while working at a bowling alley when he was 13 years old.
"I never told no one this, even my brother Geno..cause Geno would've killed him, and I didn't want my brother gone,,hell he'd only recently came home from Viet Nam," Jannetty wrote in the since-deleted post, according to Marc Middleton of Wrestling Inc. "I was 13, working at Victory Lanes bowling alley, buying weed from a f-g that worked there..and he put his hands on me..he dragged me around to the back of the building..you already know what he was gonna try to do..
"That was the very first time I made a man disappear..they never found him..they shoulda looked in the Chattahoochie River..but Winnie(the girl in these pics) I likes you so damn much, probably my favorite..but I promised myself way back then, nobody would ever hurt me again..that includes you..I loved you but you hurt me with your f---in Jamaican jealousy..you can go your own way, I don't need you.."
A spokesperson from the Columbus Police Department's homicide and cold case division told TMZ Sports they will be looking into the matter.
"The first step will be seeing if we have any missing persons or unidentified remains cases that match the limited information in the post," the spokesperson said, adding they have "several current active homicide investigations underway and they will have to remain the priority."
Jannetty turned 60 years old this year, which means the alleged incident would have occurred around 1973.
