John Cena: Shaq 'could've been something in WWE'
John Cena believes Shaquille O'Neal could have had a successful career in WWE had he not made it to the NBA.
Cena praised O'Neal during an appearance on NBA on TNT, calling him one of the greatest sports entertainers of all time.
"It's a shame that you were born so large and so gifted on the basketball court because you could've been something in WWE," Cena said. "I still think you can be, I still think you can be, but you are (on) Mount Rushmore of sports entertainers, man."
O'Neal was a surprise participant in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32 in 2016 and was set to square off against Big Show at WrestleMania 33, but the match was called off.
The NBA Hall of Famer appeared on an episode of AEW Dynamite earlier in March, teaming up with Jade Cargill to defeat Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet.
