Dana White advises The Rock to get XFL 'on television ASAP'
UFC president Dana White has some advice for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson following his purchase of the XFL.
"If I was The Rock, I'd try to get that rolling as fast as I could. I'd try to get that on television ASAP," White told TMZ Sports. "I guarantee you there's a ton of networks that would do it, that'll give it a try right now. They're dying for live sports programming."
Johnson, his ex-wife and business partner Dany Garcia, and RedBird Capital Partners announced Monday they acquired the XFL for around $15 million. The rebooted league declared bankruptcy in April after it was forced to cancel its season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
White, whose UFC has continued operations during the pandemic, added he would reach out to Johnson with more suggestions.
"I'm actually gonna call him today and gonna walk him through what I think he needs to do on the COVID side of this thing," White said. "And, I have some ideas for him."
