Royals' Zobrist: 'There's going to be a lot more wins coming'

A day after utility player Ben Zobrist was acquired by the Kansas City Royals from the Oakland Athletics, Zorilla couldn't help but be excited about the new opportunity with the American League's top club.

"You've got to believe there's going to be a lot more wins coming in the next couple months," Zobrist told Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star. "So I'm super excited about it."

Adding right-hander Johnny Cueto on Sunday, the Royals are poised to make yet another deep run in October, and manager Ned Yost wants to ensure his club will make the most of it.

"It's a very rare opportunity," he said. "You try to take full advantage of it. You never know when the opportunity is to come again."

Given his ability to play second, right field or shortstop, Zobrist's services are well-documented, especially within the dressing room.

"He's probably the best utility baseball player in the game. If not one of just the best players in the game." Mike Moustakas said. "He can hit. He can play defense. You know what you're going to get from him every single day. He's going to play hard."

First baseman Eric Hosmer couldn't help but echo the anticipation looming for the post-season.

"It makes for a dangerous team," he said. "Especially in October."
