Report: New contract for Jordan Cameron unlikely before end of season

Cleveland Browns tight end Jordan Cameron will most likely play out the final year of his rookie contract without signing a new, long-term deal, league sources told Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com

Although the 2013 Pro Bowler referred to the negotiation process as "positive" back in August, the two sides weren't able to reach a new deal before the beginning of the season.

Should the Browns fail to add his signature to a long-term contract, they'll likely use a franchise tag on him. Franchised tight ends made $7.035 million in 2014, a distinction Cameron preemptively tried to avoid when he listed himself as a "Pro Bowl pass catcher" in his Twitter bio.
