Giants' Morse credits Barry Bonds for pinch-hit homer

Seven years after retiring, Barry Bonds is still helping the San Francisco Giants win games.

Giants outfielder Michael Morse's pinch-hit home run in the eighth inning of Game 5 tied the contest at 3-3 and paved the way for San Francisco's dramatic walk-off victory over the St. Louis cardinals.

Morse, whose late-season hamstring injury forced him into a bench role during the playoffs, credits baseball's all-time home run leader for helping him make an adjustment during the key at-bat.

"He said, 'Man, just get your foot down,'" Morse told reporters after the game. "So I really tried to get my foot down early, and it worked out."

Bonds, who threw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to Game 4, is recovering from hip surgery performed earlier this month.
