It seemed like the moment would never come.
In a season in which he's missed a number of sitters, Mario Gomez finally found the back of the net Sunday, helping Fiorentina achieve a 4-0 away win over Cagliari with a comfortable finish in the second half.
Not only was the goal Gomez's first of the season, it was his first since March 16, when he scored in the final moments of Fiorentina's 3-1 win against Chievo.

The sigh of relief breathed during Gomez's celebration showed just how relieved he was to have scored, a sentiment he echoed after the final whistle.
