2015 NFL Scouting Combine

DAY 4

Winston stands out in QB drills

After finally deciding to participate in on-field throwing drills, Jameis Winston did not disappoint with his performance.

While teams won't put much stock into the workouts, Winston's precise throws and effortless deep ball made it clear he is the top pure passer available in this year's draft.

Marcus Mariota was also impressive in his on-field drills, proving that this year's top quarterbacks made the right decision in opting to compete at the combine.

Shane Ray reportedly won't work out at the combine

One of the draft's top pass rushers doesn't appear to be able to show off his skills at the combine.

Shane Ray reportedly won't participate in the festivities because of an injury.

The 2014 SEC Defensive Player of the Year posted 14.5 sacks as a junior.

Ameer Abdullah finishes on top of 4 events

They weren't the most exciting events of the NFL Combine, but Ameer Abdullah cemented his status as one of the best backs in his class.

The Nebraska product finished on top of the vertical jump, broad jump, 3-cone drill and 20-yard shuttle.

Although his 4.6 40-yard dash time wasn't phenomenal, Abdullah's efforts on Saturday surely turned some heads.

Langford sets pace for RBs in the 40

Jeremy Langford raced his way to a 40 time of 4.42 seconds on Saturday, to lead all running backs

Karlos Williams and Trey Williams also posted sub-4.5 40-yard dashes.

It wasn't a particularly impressive session for the backs, as Melvin Gordon's time of 4.52 seconds was good enough to finish in the top five.

Vic Beasley shows off on the bench press

Outside linebackers aren't typically known for strength, but Vic Beasley made a big statement in the bench press on Saturday.

Beasley posted 35 reps, which led all linebackers, and that mark would have also tied for first among defensive linemen.

Combine Stock Watch: White and Conley take off

Though he may project as a late-round prospect, Georgia wide receiver Chris Conley established himself as one of the most exciting physical specimens of this year's draft. If Conley's 4.35-second 40 time wasn't enough to get the attention of team personnel in attendance at the combine Saturday, adding an 11-foot-7 broad jump and 45-inch vertical certainly did the job.

The competition to be the first wide receiver selected in the draft will be one of the most interesting to following in the coming weeks, and it now appears to be a two-man race between West Virginia's Kevin White and Alabama's Amari Cooper.

Already one of the most physical receivers in this year's class, White turned heads with an official 4.35-second 40-yard dash time. In doing so, he just may have made himself the early favorite at the position.

Gurley's knee ahead of schedule

Concerns arose on Friday that Todd Gurley's recovery from a torn ACL may not be going well because the running back didn't want doctors to examine his knee.

Those reports appear to be unfounded as Dr. James Andrews weighed in on Saturday.

Andrews stated he has spoken to doctors that have examined Gurley's knee and it is ahead of schedule.
