Canelo Alvarez to fight Callum Smith on Dec. 19

Canelo Alvarez and Callum Smith will meet on Dec. 19 for a super middleweight title fight on DAZN, promoter Eddie Hearn announced Tuesday.

The match will likely happen in Texas, according to Mike Coppinger of The Athletic.
Alvarez (53-1-2, 36 KOs) hasn't fought in over a year. His last fight came against Sergey Kovalev, who was knocked out in November 2019.
The 30-year-old Mexican has won belts in the super-welterweight, middleweight, super-middle, and light-heavyweight divisions.
Meanwhile, Smith (27-0-0, 19 KOs) defeated John Ryder in his last event, which also took place in November 2019.
