A melee broke out between members of Nate Diaz's and Jorge Masvidal's teams at the end of a press conference Thursday in Anaheim.

The former UFC stars were promoting their July 6 boxing match, which is scheduled to take place at the Honda Center in Anaheim. The fight was originally set for June 1 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles before being postponed in early May.

As the press conference wrapped up, Diaz stood up, walked off the dais, and didn't face off with Masvidal. He returned and flexed for the cameras but still didn't engage in a traditional staredown with his opponent. Moments later, the two fighters' teams appeared to begin jawing at each other before the scene erupted into a brawl.

Masvidal appeared to throw a slap at a member of Diaz's team, who then fired a punch back at Masvidal. Several people proceeded to throw punches at one another before security intervened.

Diaz, who didn't appear to participate in the brawl, was caught on camera yelling at Masvidal and his team afterward.

The July 6 boxing match between Masvidal and Diaz will be a rematch of a high-profile MMA fight in 2019. Masvidal defeated Diaz via a doctor's stoppage TKO in the UFC 244 main event that November at New York's Madison Square Garden. At the time, Masvidal and Diaz were two of the most popular fighters on the roster.

Diaz parted ways with the promotion as a free agent in 2022, while Masvidal retired from MMA last year.
