Shakur Stevenson defeated Artem Harutyunyan by unanimous decision in their 12-round fight to retain his WBC lightweight title Saturday at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

The judges scored the fight 119-109, 118-110, 116-112 in favor of Stevenson.

The 27-year-old, who's now a promotional free agent following the expiration of his deal with Top Rank Boxing, improved his record to 22-0 (10 KOs). However, he was booed during the bout for failing to finish a major underdog at an event staged in his hometown.

Stevenson's previous fight was another unanimous decision victory against Edwin De Los Santos in November.

Meanwhile, this was Harutyunyan's (12-2, 7 KOs) first major championship fight and his third-ever 12-round match. The 33-year-old's last bout was in July 2023 when he lost to Frank Martin by unanimous decision.
