Monchengladbach signs Jannik Vestergaard from Werder Bremen
Borussia Monchengladbach has signed Danish international Jannik Vestergaard from Werder Bremen to a five-year deal, the club announced Friday.
The centre-back, who has 129 German top-flight appearances under his belt, joins the Bundesliga side after passing a medical.
An angular footballer in the mold of a traditional centre-back, the Brondby academy product started 33 league matches for Bremen last season, bagging two goals for a struggling Die Werderaner side who flirted with relegation for much of the campaign.

"Despite his young age, Jannik will play an important role in our defence due to his experience and physical presence," sporting director Max Eberl said.
"We're delighted that he has decided to join Borussia and that we've managed to sign him."
Vestergaard, 23, had two years left on his deal with Bremen, where he spent the past two seasons after moving from Hoffenheim during the January transfer window in 2015.
