The Bundesliga continues to lead the way for the emergence of women in men's football.

A month to the day after the announcement that Bibiana Steinhaus would referee next season in the German top flight, Eintracht Frankurt has named Helena Costa the Bundesliga's first female scout.

Costa arrives at the Commerzbank-Arena with a diverse coaching pedigree for both club and country. Nicknamed "Jose Mourinho in a skirt," the Portuguese football savant was previously hired to manage French second-tier side Clermont Foot, becoming the first woman to boss a men's side in the top-two levels of a major European League.

She stepped down from that position in June 2014 after one training session, claiming that her hiring was a superficial attempt to garner attention, and was replaced by former French international Corinne Diacre.

Costa, 39, has also managed Qatar's and Iran's women's national teams after spending 13 years working in Benfica's youth setup and has a UEFA A coaching license and back-room experience with Scottish giant Celtic.
