Dortmund: No plans to sell Pulisic at end of season

Borussia Dortmund has alerted American wunderkind Christian Pulisic's potential suitors that the star winger will not be sold at the end of the season.

Former Bayern Munich star Lothar Matthaus sparked speculation over Pulisic's future when he linked the 19-year-old with a move to Bavaria as a like-for-like replacement for Arjen Robben.

Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc was quick to quell said speculation, saying the club has no plans to sell Pulisic next summer.

"Those experts are being paid to talk a lot. Sometimes they talk sense, sometimes less so. I don't care much about that. I prefer to stick to the facts. And thus I see Christian with us in the long term," Zorc told Reviersport, courtesy of ESPN FC.

"We plan ahead with Christian Pulisic. And when I say ahead, I mean beyond this summer. He has a long-term contract and feels at home in Dortmund."

Pulisic extended his deal at the Westfalenstadion in January through 2020, and the 20-time capped USMNT standout has said all the right things to date, admitting in the summer that "I couldn't go to Bayern. Usually, you can't say something like that, but no."

After breaking into the first team in 2016 as part of a meteoric rise, Pulisic has become one of the first names on Peter Bosz's team sheet, especially this season on the heels of Ousmane Dembele's move to Barcelona. Pulisic has appeared in 16 matches in all competitions this season for Dortmund, with five starts coming on the left and another five in his traditional role on the right flank.
