Pogba, De Ligt agent Raiola banned by FIFA

FIFA has extended a three-month ban imposed by the Italian Football Association on super agent Mino Raiola to have immediate worldwide effect.

"The Chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee has today decided to extend the sanctions imposed by the Italian Football Association (FIGC) on the intermediaries Carmine and Vincenzo Raiola to have worldwide effect," FIFA's statement read. "Carmine Raiola is suspended for a period of three months and Vincenzo Raiola for a period of two months."

Raiola and his cousin, fellow agent Vincenzo, were recipients of three- and two-month bans, respectively, earlier in the week for undisclosed reasons stemming from transfer improprieties.

FIFA's statement doesn't divulge the reasons for the ban, adding "For further information concerning the grounds of the sanction please contact FIGC."

Raiola's temporary suspension could play a factor in summer transfers for the Italian's star-studded litter of footballers. Manchester United wantaway Paul Pogba and Ajax wunderkind Matthijs de Ligt are two of several players linked with big-money moves. Raiola's ban would end just after the Premier League's transfer window slams shut and weeks before the rest of Europe's divisions close up shop. Vincenzo's ban would lapse in July.

Raiola has already expressed a desire to fight the FIGC's ruling.
