Seattle signs Nelson Valdez from Eintracht Frankfurt
Paraguayan Copa America standout Nelson Valdez has signed with the Seattle Sounders as a Designated Player following a transfer from German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt.
As per MLS policy, details of the move were not disclosed, but Valdez joins Seattle as one of the club's three Designated Players since target allocation money was used toward the contract of Osvaldo Alonso, according to Seattle's official website.

Valdez joins Clint Dempsey and Obafemi Martins as Seattle's Designated Players, giving the team currently on the cusp of the MLS Western Conference playoff picture a formidable attacking trio.
The Paraguayan's move to MLS follows a successful spell with the national team during this summer's Copa America tournament, where the striker returned to fitness after an injury-plagued campaign with Eintracht. Valdez missed all but 10 matches last season after suffering torn cruciate ligaments in his right knee.
His move to MLS should improve Seattle's lot, as the experienced Venezuelan international is capable of goals like the one below from Paraguay's Copa America campaign.
