The Ottawa Redblacks opened the 2023 CFL Draft by selecting Fresno State offensive lineman Dontae Bull with the first overall pick on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-7, 320-pounder started 27 of his 35 appearances with the Bulldogs, logging snaps at both left and right tackle throughout his college career. He made seven starts in 2022 before suffering a season-ending injury.
Bull is a native of Victoria, British Columbia.
Ottawa finished last season 4-14, the team's third straight losing campaign.
The Redblacks also picked first overall in the 2023 CFL Global Draft on Tuesday, selecting defensive lineman Blessman Ta'ala.
