Chelsea's pursuit of Kai Havertz is finally going to bear fruit.

Bayer Leverkusen will accept a €100-million bid for their young star - €80 million up front with €20 million in add-ons - with the clubs set to iron out final details before the deal is completed, according to Fabrizio Romano of The Guardian.

Personal terms between the Blues and the versatile 21-year-old have long been agreed upon, with Romano reporting Havertz will sign a five-year contract with the west London club.

A completed deal would conclude a lengthy courtship by Chelsea. Leverkusen reportedly rejected the Premier League side's €80-million bid earlier in August, standing firm on their €100-million valuation.

Frank Lampard has been keen to add Havertz to his collection of explosive attacking talent; the German would become the club's third major signing going into the new campaign after the acquisitions of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech.

Havertz, who can play a variety of attacking positions, is coming off a stellar season in which he scored 12 Bundesliga goals and added six assists.

In addition to Werner and Ziyech, Havertz appears set to join a side that also boasts the likes of Christian Pulisic, Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, and Callum Hudson-Odoi. The talented young group should make Chelsea one of the Premier League's most entertaining teams in 2020-21.

Leverkusen, meanwhile, are focused on signing a replacement, and have started talks with Roma over a deal for Patrik Schick, according to Romano. The Czech forward, 24, is back at the Italian club after spending the past season on loan with RB Leipzig, where he scored 10 goals in 22 Bundesliga appearances.
