Ravens back Andrews after costly mistakes in loss to Bills
Several members of the Baltimore Ravens showed support for Mark Andrews after the tight end's costly mistakes during Sunday's 27-25 divisional-round loss to the Buffalo Bills.
"We wouldn't be here without Mark Andrews," head coach John Harbaugh said postgame, according to The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec.
Andrews - who led the Ravens with 11 touchdown receptions in 2024 - made two crucial mistakes against the Bills. He first suffered a fumble in the fourth quarter after making a 16-yard catch at Buffalo's 44-yard line to end a promising Baltimore drive.
Andrews then dropped a game-tying two-point convert with 1:33 left in the game after Lamar Jackson and Isaiah Likely connected for a 24-yard TD. The veteran finished the evening with five receptions for 61 yards.
"For anybody to say anything about him, you have to look in the mirror," Ravens defensive back Kyle Hamilton said of Andrews' performance, according to Zrebiec.
"It's not a personnel thing. It's not a coaching thing. We just didn't execute. These losses hurt, but it adds fuel to the fire," the defender added.
A third-round pick in 2018, Andrews has spent his entire career with the Ravens, recording 436 receptions for 5,530 yards and 51 touchdowns, the most in franchise history. However, the 29-year-old had a relatively down season, with his 39.6 yards per game representing his lowest mark since his rookie campaign.
"I told these guys to hold their heads high. We didn't win this game. Disappointing. We didn't do the things we needed to do to win this game," Harbaugh said.
The loss marks another elimination for the Ravens in the Jackson era. The two-time NFL MVP - who's the favorite to win the league's top individual award again this year - hasn't managed to lead Baltimore to the Super Bowl despite boasting a 70-24 regular-season record.
