For a brief moment, Tiger Woods looked like the average golfer trying to play Augusta National.
However, the five-time champion reminded everyone why he's arguably the greatest golfer in history with an incredible run to close out his 2020 Masters.
After a disastrous par-3 12th, on which Woods posted the highest score of his PGA Tour career, the 44-year-old tore up the closing stretch at the iconic layout with five birdies over the final six holes.
When the dust settled, Woods finished his final round with a 76. He exited in a tie for 39th at 1-under.
Though it's a far cry from last year's incredible scenes, when Woods won his fifth green jacket, there are enough positives for him to reflect on going forward.
Woods was 8-under for the tournament if you exclude the septuple-bogey on No. 12, a score that would place him 10th on the leaderboard. That would be the best finish for Woods at a PGA Tour event since the Farmers Insurance Open in January.
He also matched his lowest opening round ever at Augusta with a 4-under 68. The 82-time PGA Tour winner gave himself plenty of chances to make a charge up the leaderboard, but he just couldn't get enough putts to drop before Sunday.
Woods will now have an extended rest over the holidays before the calendar flips to 2021. It's likely he won't play in a tournament until January at Torrey Pines.
