Kane, Pochettino apologetic after bitter collapse
"It's happened again, it's happened again, Tottenham Hotspur, it's happened again."
Hysterical Arsenal supporters celebrated Sunday's victory over Aston Villa by singing a common refrain, while the mood was understandably very different among Tottenham players.
Golden Boot winner Harry Kane and Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino encapsulated those sentiments speaking to reporters moments after suffering a 5-1 loss at Newcastle, their worst defeat of the season.
The loss meant Spurs finished behind Arsenal for the 21st consecutive year after the Gunners topped Aston Villa 4-0 at the Emirates.

"First of all I would like to apologise to our fans, I think they don't deserve all that happened today on the pitch and I apologise. It was a shame and difficult to understand," the Argentine gaffer lamented after the drubbing.
"I am very disappointed because our fans don't deserve it, it is difficult to go tonight and see my boys and my wife. I think it is unbelievable and we are very disappointed."

"We had the possibility to stay second and how we lost and how we gave to the opponent that is relegated, in the first and second half, they score three goals with 10 players it is the worst day as a manager and I feel very disappointed.
"We need to be sure that never happens again and need to improve our mentality. We were on holiday and that is the reality."
Kane echoed the words of his gaffer, solemn in defeat despite having just been crowned the first English Golden Boot winner since 1999-2000.
