Sevilla president says Emery not joining Everton
Amid speculation that three-time running Europa League champ Unai Emery would be taking the vacant managerial opening at Everton, Sevilla president has come out to claim that his coveted gaffer is going nowhere in the summer.
"I can tell you he has said he is not on the market, and is not thinking about anything else," Sevilla president Jose Castro told Sevilla TV, courtesy of the Liverpool Echo.
Emery was thought to be one of four frontrunners for the position vacated after the sacking of Roberto Martinez. Southampton boss Ronald Koeman, ex-Ajax boss Frank de Boer, and former Toffees gaffer David Moyes are all reportedly being eyed by the club's newest shareholder, Farhad Moshiri.
Even with interest swirling around the manager that just won a third continental trophy on the trot with a 3-1 defeat of Everton's Merseyside rival Liverpool, Castro concedes that Emery is the perfect man to stay at the helm of the Andalusioan side.
"The coach has understood our idiosyncrasies perfectly.
"He is crazy about football, the hours he puts it, how he manages the squad. I say that now after being successful, but also at the start of the season."
