The 23-year-old moved to the south coast of England on a four-year deal for what was believed to be around £5.1 million. Just 12 Premier League substitute appearances later, Juanmi is heading back to the Iberian peninsula for an undisclosed fee.
At Sociedad, he joins a team that finished ninth in the table in 2015-16 and will work under Eusebio Sacristan, who succeeded David Moyes following his dismissal last November.
