Guardiola concedes City interest in Schalke's Sane

Pep Guardiola confessed Wednesday that Manchester City is making efforts to sign FC Schalke 04's Leroy Sane, but indicated that a potential deal is being held up by differing valuations of the 20-year-old.
Some accounts stated that City was prepared to accept the Bundesliga outfit's demands for the pacey winger, but Guardiola's version of events seems less optimistic.

"Sane is a player of Schalke. Of course we talk to him - Schalke knows we are interested, but at this moment we don't have many possibilities to get him," Guardiola told reporters.
"There is a difference between Manchester City and Schalke and it is quite big. I do not know what is going to happen but right now he is with Schalke."
Sane scored eight goals and laid on six assists in 23 league starts in 2015-16, and was also involved in Germany's Euro 2016 run to the semi-finals. His exploits have apparently caught the attentions of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, but City's efforts looked to be nearing fruition following Tuesday night's reports.
The precocious talent would offer immediate competition on the right flank to Jesus Navas, a fast but sometimes wasteful player who tallied more minutes than any other City player last term.
