France's Sagna limps off with suspected hamstring injury vs. Bulgaria

France's Bacary Sagna was having himself quite a match Friday against Bulgaria in World Cup qualifying, only to gingerly walk off the pitch in the 26th minute with a suspected hamstring injury.

Moments after the Manchester City full-back's deft cross found Kevin Gameiro's head for a straightforward 1-0 advantage in the 23rd minute, Sagna was taken off for Monaco summer signing Djibril Sidibe.

Sagna was hampered by a left hamstring strain, according to French outlet RMC Sport, prompting his substitution in the 4-1 victory that moves the Euro 2016 finalist joint-top of Group A with the Netherlands and Sweden.

While Sagna is certain to have a scan that will most likely see him miss Monday's qualifier in the Netherlands, it's impossible to say whether the 33-year-old former Arsenal star will be fit for an Oct. 15 visit from Everton.

Either way, Argentine veteran Pablo Zabaleta may fancy his odds to start against the Toffees. The two right-backs have platooned for Pep Guardiola's lot this season, with Sagna making four league starts to Zabaleta's three.
