Twitter reacts to dreary Liverpool-Manchester United draw
Monday's marquee matchup between Liverpool and Manchester United had the makings of a classic, instead, it was a stodgy scoreless draw where many of the game's biggest stars failed on a massive stage.
Naturally, supporters and pundits alike took to Twitter to share their displeasure with the result that saw both sides fail to make up ground in a bustling Premier League table rife with clubs with realistic title ambitions.
Drab affair that. No risks taken by either team. Loads of huffing and puffing. Point at Anfield would have been taken before the game though

Just wait for next weekend's Chelsea v Man Utd before declaring this the most boring game of the season 🙈

Typical Mourinho performance. Solid defensively, sit back, try to pounce on one of the few chances you get. If you can't, don't lose.

Let's be honest, take away his Portuguese nationality and Jose Mourinho quite literally is a slightly better version of Tony Pulis.

If Manchester United had come to play expansive football, with their team in its current state, they'd have received an absolute cleansing.

"Do you think Man Utd could've come here and been more ambitious" says Martin Tyler after the Red Devils get their 1st corner at 80 mins.

Putting all the big guys in the middle to kick people and praying for a moment of genius from Ibra or Pogba is not some stroke of genius.

I'd struggle supporting a Mourinho-managed team. Anti-football to the core in all big games. Soul destroying for rivals, neutrals & purists.

United summer signings Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba were lightning rods for derision, with most referencing the latter's world-record fee contrasted with his performance Monday.
Pogba is definitely worth every penny of ... er, blimey HOW much did you just say you paid for him? Sorry, how much? Surely not? Seriously?
— Jon Benjamin (@JonBenjamin19) October 17, 2016
Give Pogba time and he will become the player they want, Ibra looks lazy though.

This game is emblematic of judging a team-sheet by its names. Fellaini and Young laughed at but were great, Pogba and Ibra incredibly poor.

Paul Pogba will have to decide what type of player he's going to be in this league. He's just doing bits of everything.
— Paul Hayward (@_PaulHayward) October 17, 2016
Only Jose Mourinho could sign Pogba and Zlatan and then decide to play like a 2009 version of Stoke City.

Among the litany of disdainful Tweets, several opted to take the positive in acknowledging United shot-stopper David De Gea's stellar performance, including a trio of former Red Devils.
@D_DeGea 🙈🔝👏🏽

What a save from this man @D_DeGea 👏🏽 no1 in the world for me right now! #LIVMUN pic.twitter.com/jWXqgYpMWf
