Wilshere looking to help parent club Arsenal with Chelsea result
Those who reckon that Bournemouth midfielder Wilshere has changed his allegiances don't know Jack.
On a south coast sojourn with the Cherries, Jack Wilshere's fidelities rest with parent club Arsenal, and the England international is hoping to help both his current side and the one he joined as a nine-year-old during next Monday's festive feature.
Bournemouth faces the unenviable task of a Boxing Day Stamford Bridge visit to face a red-hot Chelsea side that's won a club-record-equalling 11 on the bounce, though Wilshere has plenty of reasons to get up for the match.
"I want to get a result to help Arsenal," Wilshere admitted, courtesy of the Evening Standard's Tom Dutton.
Surely the north London outfit would appreciate the help, especially after successive losses to Everton and Manchester City saw the Gunners drop to fourth - nine points adrift of Chelsea.
Arsenal, meanwhile, is desperate for three points as it gets set to host high-flying West Brom at the Emirates. With Bournemouth looking to maintain its top-half standing, should the Cherries emulate their stunning come-from-behind over Liverpool, Wilshere and Co. will help more then their own ambitions.
With a year left on his Arsenal deal, Wilshere is hoping to wear the trademark red strip with white sleeves once again, and from the sounds of it, Arsene Wenger is on the same page.
"My feeling is I want him back," Wenger said in November. "He always said he is an Arsenal man. If you only think about yourself, then you go where you like to be. He always said he was an Arsenal man."
